Bryant started working with Lesser Prairie Chickens in 1977 and was the first person hired by the Division of Wildlife to work on them. After two years, he entered the District Wildlife Manager Training Program then was assigned to the Alamosa District. Two years later he was transferred to southeast Colorado. Join his presentation as he shares with us information on his favorite bird, the Lesser Prairie Chickens.

How to get there and what you can anticipate to see in each season. Local Birder and wildlife enthusiast Jill Smith will be sharing all her images and secrets to a great experience in our part of the state!

1 pm - Diana Miller from the Raptor Center will present lots of great information with all the wonderful raptors to be there. She will be here with hawks, eagles, and owls. 2 pm - Gloria Nikolai presentation on Backyard Birding.  Birds are entertaining and providing a welcoming backyard is your opportunity to watch birds in relative closeness. Backyard birding is a wonderful activity for everyone: young, old, sedentary and more active. This presentation will review backyard feeding basics including food, vegetation, water and feeders. Given the right setup, your backyard may invite as many as 20-30 bird species in a day and over a hundred on your yard list over time. This presentation will include photos and interesting information about birds. Come and learn more about our feathered visitors.

3 pm Colorado Parks and Wildlife discussion. Have you ever visited a State Park or Wildlife Area and left with a question of why certain areas are closed in certain seasons? What drives the management decisi.ons for specific properties? Or who to ask for more information?

Join us for a discussion with CPW Managers about local access, considerations, and public driven conversation regarding concerns and ideas for future development.

This will be an informal conversation where you can learn why things are done the way they are and what potential we have for future change.
